Devices with an HDMI output can be connected to two or more HDTV displays using a HDMI Splitter. It has the ability to split the video signal, duplicate it and distribute it to multiple displays with synchronized output available on all displays. It enables a clean, simultaneous distribution of one high-definition signal to multiple HDMI displays. Set-top boxes, DVD players, D-VHS players, play stations, and other high definition devices can all be connected using these splitters. These devices provide a low cost solution for video and audio equipment integration.

Available in a wide range of sizes such as 1x2, 1x4, 2x2, 2x4, 4x4, and 2x8 models, this video distribution amplifier can be cascaded for a larger distribution. Once a flexible distribution hub is created, a user has the option to view the display on many display devices. The HDMI Matrix unit combines an HDMI splitter and an HDMI switch allowing multiple video inputs to be displayed on multiple video displays. Control is done through push buttons on the unit or RS232, but optional methods include IR and TCP/IP control. This device includes a signal boosting system for longer cable runs. Resolutions ranging from 720i, 720p, 1080i to 1080p can all be supported by these devices thereby providing crystal clear displays. They work on the simple principle of plug and play and support devices which are HDCP compliant and FCC CE certified. It does not have any compatibility issues with any of the operating systems. Easy to install, this video splitter does not require software or drivers for operation. It does not convert the digital signals to analog and then back to digital but keeps all signals in an uncompressed digital format. HDMI is backward compatible with DVI hence this system works with both DVI and HDMI inputs assuming proper converters are used in conjunction with the splitter.

Here is a little video on how I did the flash photography with Canon Speedlites while dropping items into a tank of water. With a white background, I used a Canon Speedlite 580ex II on the left and right of the fish tank with water. They were set to manual 1/128sec. I had a Canon Speedlite 430ex ii on a chair behind the fish tank pointing towards the white background so it would come out pure white. This was set to manual 1/64th of a second (I would of done 1/128 but the 430ex ii can only go down to 1/64). You want to go 1/128 so it freezes the splash mid air. I also used another Canon Speedlite 430ex II in front of the tank at a 45 degree angle to fill the shadows on the front of the object your dropping. This one isn't totally necessary cause you can angle the side flashes a little to help hit the front of the object, but I had the flash available and I liked the results better when using it. I only had to squeegee the tank splashes once every 10 or so drops when using white cause its really easy to remove the spots in Lightroom with the exposure brush. But on the black background, it was a totally different story. I had to squeegee every single time or the spots on the side of the tank would appear as bright as day in your photo, making it much harder to remove them in post. I bought a squeegee from WalMart for .50, and cut the handle off (since otherwise the handle would hit the end of the tank before I was done wiping it off). The HDMI standard was created by many of the leading manufacturers, these include: Panasonic, Hitachi, Philips, Sony, Thomson (RCA), Silicon Image and Toshiba. HDMI is not just a used in video transfer, it also has embedded multi-channel audio support.
A lot of people out there find all these new "options" that have come with HD technology very confusing (i.e. Deep colour and DVD audio). So below is a brief guide to some of the options that are available below.

Deep colour: This in simple terms allows you HD television to go from a display using millions of colours to a display of billions of colours. It also increases the contrast ratio, therefore allowing more grey shades between white and black. Colour banding lines are completely eliminated and this gives the viewer unrivalled colour accuracy and vividness due to the smooth transitions and grading between colour and tone.

How much better is 1080p than 720p: In purely technical terms it's 225%. The sound quality is also improved by a further 50% with the new totally lossless, bit-for-bit Dolby True HD and DTS Master HD multi channel audio content.

xvYCC / xv Colour: This is a new standard brought in with HDMI 1.3 (IEC 61966-2-4, more commonly known as xvYCC, the shorthand term for "Extended YCC Colorimetry for Video Applications". This standard has the brand name "x.v.Colour"). This new standard has 1.8 times more display colours than the previous standard, enabling a more pleasurable viewing experience.

DVD audio: This digital format allows a range of audio channels from single through 5.1 channel surround sound. The audio quality of a DVD Audio disc can be substantially higher than a standard audio CD. DVD Audio supports bit depths up to 24-bit and sample rates up to 192 kHz, CD audio can only reach 16-bit and 44.1 kHz.

Cabling has always been an issue with recent electronic advances, for example you need this type of cable and can't go over a certain length, etc, etc. HDMI technology has been designed to use a standard copper cable construction. In order to allow cable manufacturers to improve their products through the use of new and emerging technologies, the HDMI standard specifies the required performance of a cable but does not specify a maximum cable length. Cables are now available in lengths of up to 15 meters.

You can enjoy your favorite television shows and movies over a high speed broadband connection on your computer. All you need to pay is the fixed monthly rental for unlimited usage. However, the experience would be further enjoyable if you can view these entertainment shows on a big screen. In order to do this, you need connect your computer to an HDMI.

In order to set up, ensure that your computer is properly shut down. Then turn around the monitor and locate the wire that goes from the monitor to the CPU cabinet. You would observe that this wire would have been connected to the video output. This could be 29-pin port or a 15-pin port depending on your PC. In some computers, you may find a HDMI port by default. There would also be an empty VGA or DVI port.

If your computer has a HDMI port, you can connect one end of the HDMI wire to the respective port and the other end of the wire to the TV. If your computer has just one video output port, it is advisable to purchase a video card with HDMI or DVI output and install it on your computer. However, if your output port is a DVI port, you can purchase a converter cable for DVI to HDMI and then connect it to the TV.

If you do not have HDMI port you may also need an additional chord to connect the sound card of your PC to the HDMI adapter in order to carry both video and audio signals.

Vizio has recently introduced two new 3D capable Blu-Ray Players, the VBR333 and the VBR334. They are identical players, with the same specifications. The only difference is the VBR334 comes with a HDMI cable and can only be purchased in retail clubs. The VBR333 is a Profile 2.0 player, supporting BD-Live features and Bonus View. Has high-definition playback on 3D Blu-Rays and Blu-Ray discs. With support for high-resolution audio formats. It comes equipped with integrated Wi-Fi, making access to Vizio Internet Apps very easy.

VIDEO QUALITY: Video connections for the VBR333 come in the form of a HDMI Output, Composite Video Outputs and Component Video Outputs. Unlike some 3D players, it only has one HDMI Output. You will have to bypass your Audio/Video receiver if it is not 3D capable. The HDMI connection will produce 1080p/24 video resolution for both 3D Blu-Ray and Blu-Ray discs.
